La revisión ocular depende de dos factores, la edad y la salud.
El primer exámen ocular debe realizarse entre los 3 y 5 años.
El segundo exámen ocular ha de hacerse en edad escolar y adolescencia. En caso de que no exista ningún problema de visión, habrá que acudir cada dos años al oftalmólogo. Si existen problemas de visión, deberá seguir las indicaciones del médico.
Si no hay problemas de visión en la edad adulta, habrá que acudir cada 5 o 10 años al médico oftalmólogo, entre los 20 y los 30 años.
Entre los 40 y los 65 años, la visita al oftalmólogo deberá hacerse cada 2 o 4 años.
Después de los 65 años la revisión será de 1 a 2 años.
